He mumbled, "Yes rules."
His eyes rolled at her reservation of stubbornness. "I guess I can't deny you that but otherwise those rules are law. I'll have someone with better handwriting than me write them down." He glanced to her. "There'll be house rules too. Stuff nobody can do, so don't worry. You'll be bossing everyone around still. As usual."
He smirked. "Is it that bad?" He decided to hurry and speak before he regretted his sarcasm. "Never mind. Let's go." He stood, holding out a hand to her to help her stand.
From a higher angle he searched for a bump her was missing, one of those glows people talk about, maybe even a sign in her face that she was pregnant, something he had just been negligent in identifying. But there was nothing he could see, even know that he knew, which made him feel better. The second Doll started showing, the harder things got for him. She'd been kidnapped too many times, and he;d done too many wrong things to the wrong people for everything to go as planned ever in their life. There was always the chance that something bad would happen to Doll, and that wasn't allowed to happen.
She wouldn't drop the fat thing though, and he assured her. "Even if you do get fat, I'll still love you. I promise."

She nodded, figuring it'd be best to just listen for now. House rules... 'Oh Goodie,' she thought sarcastically. Well, at least she'd still have some power over people. Doll took his hand, and noticed him trying to find the bump. "Honey if you're looking for the bump, you arent' gonna find it," she said, "Your wife is a master of disguise, remember? Birding? I've figured out how to hide it... for now. I dont know how well I'd be able to hide the bump after four months." He deserved to at least know that much.
Getting up from her seat, she gave him a look, "You say that now, but then I'm gonna be fat, and some pretty, skinny girl is gonna pass by. Then what?" Was Doll overreacting? Most likely, but that was probably why she spent a lot of time birding and disguising, so she wouldn't have to worry about what people thought of her if she was something she wasn't. That way she herself wasn't judged. But now... well, she was going to have to face the music, and face it with everything she got, mostly with pride.
God this was going to be hard.
