knock you off your feet
i'll be yours truly unbelievable
can't miss this chance to take you out
here's your invitation
hello Brooklyn, hey L.A.
take the streets all night 'cause we sleep all day
when the world comes crashing down
who's ready to party?

To be honest, she never really liked drinking; it made men and women fools and caused trouble and death. The greatest of men could be reduced to nothing if they became addicted; she'd seen it up close and personal. Many friends and newsies Puzzle Piece knew had been lost to alcohol; either drinking to a point of stupidity and jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge or becoming so intoxicated that they just OD ed on it.
But tonight was an exception. Well... scratch that. It wasn't. She was just so damn bored... and there was nothing better to do. Puzzle Piece wandered the Brooklyn streets that night, looking for someone she might know or recognize, but found neither. So instead of giving up and going to the lodge, she slowly dragged herself to O'Brady's. She had considered buying a soda with the few coins she had, but decided for something a bit more fulfilling. No, she knew her point and she wouldn't go past it. Besides, Puzzle Piece knew she couldn't hold alcohol as well as most Brooklyn Newsies; her stomach just simply wouldn't allow it.
So there she sat, bored to death with a cool beer bottle, still very much full, I might add, resting on the table with her right hand fingers wrapped around it. With her left elbow on the table, she rested her chin on her open palm, letting out a soft sigh. Another uneventful night in Brooklyn. She silently wondered if anything interesting is happening at Manhattan.
Suddenly, the feeling of being watched enveloped her, and as casually as she could, she turned her head to the side. Sitting there were a few older bums, staring at her greedily with unshaven faces and crazed eyes. She felt the bile rise in her throat as she turned her head forward once again. Why am I here again..?
