The trees are huge, thanks to all the people who take care of them.

Robin sat in one of the huge trees in Wave Hill, eyes surveying the surrounding area with a glint of playfulness. She sat on one of the higher branches, hands holding an imaginary telescope to her right eye, making her look like something of an adventurer as she murmured to herself, things she'd thought up in her head while she was selling papes.
Right now she was a treasure-hunter, on a quest for a lost golden idol. The young newsie let her "telescope" drop and she inched toward the end of the branch, describing her situation out loud. "Jersey Jackie makes her way over the pit of trea–tree–dangerous! Foot-tall spiders with a look of determination! This might just be the path to the treasure of…of…of…Bronxdom!" she grinned, then giggled, picturing the giant spiders in her mind.
Her giggle grew to a laugh as she pictured her heroine–Jersey Jackie–a tall, lean young woman with her features and hair, inching across a tightly-wound rope towards a dark, dank cave. There would hopefully be the gold object she was looking for, well in her mind.
"But what's this? The rope is beginning to break! Will Jersey Jackie survive?!" she declared, rather loudly, as she paused near the end of the branch. A wide grin split across her face. Having an imagination was fun sometimes.

Queenie was walking around Bronx, watching the people. She wasn't wearing a lot of jewelry, and no cap. She was a bit tired, but didn't mind walking, it cleared her mind. One of her newsies was pretending, and she heard it when she said something loud. Jersey Jackie, where had she heard that before? Then she remembered, Robin pretended to be, 'Jersey Jackie' sometimes. Queenie couldn't help but smile. The younger newsies were always so full of life, and it made her proud to know that they had the imagination to keep them through this stupid war.
Briskly walking over to Robin, she said cheerfully, "Of course she can!" picking her up in a hug, she swung her around, "She can because I say so!" Queenie didn't try to pick favorites, but Robin and a couple others were her closer friends. Why? Well, some of her newsies thought she was a bit crazy, while others embraced it. It didn't really bother her that they thought that way, she was just glad that they listened to her. In her opinion one didn't need the respect of everyone, just the fact that they listen to her.
Maybe it was the fact that she liked to be listened to, or the fact that she cared about the safety of the newsies, she was just happy that she could be a leader, and that today was a good day. How could anyone not like today? It was just- it was just a wonderful day to be alive. That's how Queenie felt before all of this happened. Now, well, now was just a day. A day in a long, long life. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, well, it was all in all a good day.

"Of course she can!" Robin's face lit up at the sound of Queenie's voice nearby, she then let out a happy squeal as her leader swept her out of the tree and swung her around in a hug. "She can because I say so!"
The ten-year old grinned at Queenie and tucked some of her light brown hair behind her ears, "She's been saved by Master Chief Queenie! Guardian of the treasure and master tamer of spiders!" she narrated, still using her 'Jersey Jackie' voice.
"QUEENIE! Robin! Oh, it's a party! All that's missing is Eddie!"
Robin cheered and waved her hands in the air happily, "Tootsie!" she paused and put her hands on her hips, face thoughtful, "Yeah, where is Eddie? We needs ta have a party! It's a party kinda day!"
"What are we doing? Huh, playing in trees, cause Iooooove trees, they are just so much fun, what is there not to like about trees, they just are so shady and cool and nice and easy to touch and love, and a great listener. Trees are GREAT listeners!"
"I'se playin' Jersey Jackie!" the young girl replied, grinning widely and wiggling out of Queenie's hug and wrapping her arms around Tootsie.
