Name: Rebecca "Willow" Rowland
Age: 15
Physical appearance: Willow has long dark hair, tinted brown in light. She usually lets it hang down free, reaching past her shoulders and falling down her back. Her dark eyes match her hair. She is somewhat tan from selling newspapers, although she doesn't always sell as much as the others, she just likes being outside. She has a couple dresses and a skirt, but doesn't always dress up. Sometimes she just wears her brother's old trousers. Whatever fits. She took after her father with her dark hair and dark eyes, while October got his Mother's lighter hair. But they both have their father's dark eyes.
History: Willow's father is Italian, her Mother American. Gianni Rowland immigrated over to America after his father tried to force him to marry. He was growing tired of Italy, tired of being bossed around, and was looking for adventure. Leaving his family behind, he boarded a ship and docked in Ellis Island, New York City. It was there that he met Mary McCormick, the daughter of his boss at the shipping yards, and fell in love. They were married and Gianna moved out of the city as fast as he could, longing for the countryside of New York. Away from all the hustle and bustle. They had two children, Joshua and Rebecca.
When Willow was 9, her Mother drowned when Gianna took her out for a boat ride on the river not far from their house. The tides had been high and Gianni had noticed it, but Mary insisted, saying she was in safe hands. The boat hit a rock and tipped, and Mary disappeared. Gianni searched for her and soon found her washed up on the bank a mile down the river, leaving him to raise two children on his own. They quickly became in debt and Gianni started to drink.
Three years, they tried to keep together as a family, trying not to lose their home, scratching and scraping to pay off the bills. And all those five years, Gianni, troubled and drunk, abused his children. Finally they couldn't take it anymore, and Willow and her brother ran away to the city, knowing their father didn't like it there. They lived off the streets until they found the Harlem Lodging House and have been living there for the past three years.
Personality:
Willow is a very gentle person, living in a very rough life. She likes taking care of others and will often clean the lodging house or patch up holes in many of the boys' trousers and shirts when needed. Of course she doesn't do it right out in the blue.
She likes to paint a little, and sometimes makes up stories to go along with her pictures, she also likes to sing, but only sings when nobody's around. She won't fight if she doesn't happen to, but can throw a punch if need. She doesn't want to be anybody's damsel in distress. Willow is rather independent. She loves her brother very much, though sometimes he doesn't seem to care about anything or anyone. She loves her Father too, except cannot forgive him for what he had done to her brother and to her.
She's not always very good around people, although she has a sense of humor and unique imagination. She just never knows when to open up and when not to.
Likes: October, Singing, cleaning, hiding under her newsie hat, people she can be herself with, painting, writing.
Dislikes: Water(she has a very large fear of it), being lonely, people taking advantage of her or others, Ghost at times, her father.
